GroutSG was started in a one-room workshop in Ang Mo Kio by two tilers who had spent a decade watching homeowners get the same disappointing renovation experience: glossy showrooms, vague quotations, missed deadlines, and work that fell apart within two years. They believed Singapore deserved a contractor that simply did the trade work properly — and stood behind it long after handover.
Twelve years later we are still tradesmen first. The founders still walk every project. Quotations are still issued by the same person who does the work, not a salesperson on commission. And every job is still warranted in writing, because we believe a workmanship promise that is not on paper is not a promise at all.
What We Believe About Renovation
A home is not a marketing campaign. It is the surface your children’s feet touch every morning, the bathroom your parents shower in safely, the kitchen where your family gathers. So we treat every project the way we would treat our own home — with patient preparation, honest materials, and the kind of attention to detail that does not show up in the photographs but absolutely shows up after five years of daily use.
We say no to jobs we cannot deliver well. Our calendar is deliberately capped at around forty whole-home renovations per year and a steady stream of specialist trade work. That ceiling keeps quality where it should be and means the team you meet on day one is the team that finishes your home — with the same standards from the first tile to the last touch-up.
